Man Arrested At Orlando International For Makings Of A Pipe Bomb In Luggage

The Orlando International Airport found components that could be made into a pipe bomb in a traveler’s luggage. The man was preparing to fly from Orlando to Jamaica on Tuesday.

The TSA will only confirm that suspicious items were found in the man’s luggage. The items generated a high level of concern.

TSA will not confirm a report printed in the Orlando Sentinel that the found items included “unassembled pipes with end caps, metal ball bearings and other potentially explosive materials.”

Orlando police turned the unnamed suspect over to the FBI. He had a ticket to fly on Air Jamaica for Tuesday afternoon. The TSA said that the man’s suspicious behaviour alerted them to do a through examination of his luggage. An arrest was made when the man checked his luggage.

Passengers were evacuated from the section of the airport that deals with Air Jaciaca, Air Canada and Air Frontier ticket counters. 11 flights were delayed because of the incident.
