Take My Wife Please Ad Placed In the Free To Collect Section

There’s an ad out in the UK that shouldn’t get that many offers but it has! A frustrated hubby has put his wife up for for someone to take off of his hands. The newlywed hubby placed the ad as a joke.
Gary Bates, 38, put wife Donna in an ad on Trade-It. The ad magazine is more in gear for getting rid of used cars and household goods.

The self-employed builder from Gloucestershire decided to place the ad when he got on his nerves while she was watching the boob tube.

“Nagging Wife. No Tax, No MOT (roadworthy certificate). Very high maintenance —some rust.

Bates is quotes by Times of India:

“She was nagging me for doing something small, while she was watching some rubbish on TV. So I just thought I’d put an ad in to get rid of her.

“I didn’t think anyone would ring up but I’ve had at least nine or 10 people calling about her. It’s gone mad. There was no one I knew — just people asking, ‘Is she still available?’”

He also placed an ad to sell his fishing tackle. The ad for Donna was in the Free to Collect section.

The couple are newlyweds having married just last year. They had been together for six years before they wed. Says Donna:

“I don’t think I do nag him — we’re newlyweds. He just doesn’t do what I want him to, that’s all”, Donna said.

Donna found out about the ad when she was looking through the magazine the next week. When she spotted it she asked if it she was the wife. After a bit of ‘ear-bashing’ the pair laughed over the joke.

Mr. Bates may have to be watching his back a bit nowadays, his missus is out for a spot of revenge says ITN.

“I said to him, ‘Someone’s put their wife in there! That wasn’t you, was it?’ He just smiled because he’s a dark horse. I couldn’t believe it.

“Revenge will be sweet though, and I’ve got something planned for him soon.”
