The Beverly Hills police issued a statement reports VH1:
“In response to media inquiries, [the] Beverly Hills Police Department is confirming a warrant was in fact issued today [March 13] for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan. The $50,000 warrant issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court stems from a May 2007 arrest of Miss Lohan for DUI and hit-and-run. The circumstances leading to the issuance of the warrant by the court are not readily available at this time. It is our hope that Miss Lohan will surrender herself so that this matter will be resolved in a timely manner.”
The warrant may be from Lohan violating terms of her probation some speculate. TMZ.com attempted to discuss the matter with the actress Friday night but she refused to comment. She has since issued a statement through Perez Hilton’s web site:
In an exclusive statement to PerezHilton.com, Lindsay says, “This warrant for my arrest is completely fabricated and its a horrendous lie. This will make me loose every single deal that I have right now. Its horrible.”
The arrest in 2007 was a result of a car chase involving the mother of Lohan’s former assistant and the actress. At the time of her arrest she tested positive for .02 grams of cocaine according to the DA’s office press release.
Lohan could face jail time if she indeed has violated the terms of her probation.
