Madonna is said to have given up boy toy Jesus Luz in order to adopt a little girl she’s wanted for newly two years. The singer is due to fly to Malawi this weekend to bring home the child.
Little four-year-old Mercy James is also getting ready to have a new home. The child was taken to a lodge outside Lilonwe this week to get prepared for a homecoming with Madonna.
As long as nothing goes wrong, Madonna and her new daughter will fly out of the south-east African country in a week.
Reuters is reporting that the rumors are true about Madonna adopting a little girl. The adoption may have a few hitches in it this time around.
“Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes,” a senior official from Malawi’s Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said when speaking about Madonna’s adoption. “Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy.”
Because of those feelings its been rumored that her current boy toy Jesus Luz is out the door. Madonna and Luz had been together since she spilt from former hubby Guy Ritchie.
The Daily Mail reports:
Mercy has been handed over to Madonna’s people, who are already at the lodge, and is being cared for by a nanny,’ says the source.
‘They are waiting for Madonna to arrive so mother and daughter can be united and then Madonna is expected to take Mercy with her when she leaves.’
On Monday it is expected that Madonna will be in court to formalize the adoption. The judge could say no but it is expected to go in Madonna’s favor.
There has also been harsh criticism about Madonna’s adoption plans from child advocacy and human rights groups. They think that the speedy adoption and the fast tracking allows for the celebrity to get special treatment.
Madonna has three children, Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and adopted son David Banda.
