50 Dead Immigrants Found In Container in SW Pakistan

As many as 50 people were discovered dead in a container used to smuggle people into Europe. Another 110 people were alive when they were recovered from the container in the south western Pakistan town of Hazar Ganji area of Quetta.
Police and doctors say that the dead died from suffocation. Reports say that the people were from Afghanistan and were on route to Iran. The driver escaped to avoid being arrested.

The authorities investigated the container after local people reported sensing the smell of bodies. The container had entered Pakistan on Friday through the Chaman border.

Emergency was declared at all hospitals in Quetta.
